An explosion occurred at the Solar Explosives plant in Bazargaon, Nagpur on Wednesday. According to initial reports, one worker has died, four are in the ICU, and nine others have sustained minor injuries.
The injured have been identified as Kailas Verma, Manish Verma, Sunny Kumar, Arun Kumar, Atul Madavi, Saurabh Dongre, Tejas Bandhate, Suraj Gutke, Akhil Bawne, and Dharmpal Manohar. They were rushed to private hospitals in Nagpur for treatment.
Officials stated that just before the blast, a fire was reported inside the plant. This gave workers enough time to evacuate, preventing a major tragedy. However, two workers were critically injured when debris from the explosion struck them.
Solar Explosives is one of the largest private sector manufacturers of explosives in the country. Police and rescue teams are at the site, and further details are awaited.
