Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) have announced major scheduled shutdowns for essential maintenance works that will affect water supply across multiple zones of the city.
Shutdown 1 – By MSEDCL at Navegaon Khairi Pumping Station
MSEDCL will undertake a 6-hour shutdown of the 33 kV NMC feeder at the Navegaon Khairi Raw Water Pumping Station on September 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM. The shutdown is required for maintenance of the 33 kV overhead line from Mansar to Parsheoni, along with preventive maintenance of the 33 kV VCB and transformer.
As a result, water supply will be disrupted in several control areas across Laxmi Nagar, Dharampeth, Hanuman Nagar, Dhantoli, Nehru Nagar, Gandhibagh, Satranjipura, Ashi Nagar, and Mangalwari zones, including neighborhoods such as Pratap Nagar, Civil Lines, Dabha, Omkar Nagar, Hudkeshwar, Sakkardara, Sitabuldi, Jaripatka, Gittikhadan, and others.
Shutdown 2 – By NMC on GH-Medical Feeder
Separately, NMC has scheduled a 24-hour shutdown of the GH-Medical feeder from 10:00 AM on September 8 to 10:00 AM on September 9, 2025. This shutdown will facilitate the interconnection of the existing 700 × 700 mm dia. Medical feeder with the new Amrut feeder at Mokshadam Square, Cotton Market Road.
The affected areas will include GMC, TB Ward, SECR Railway, Rambagh Colony, Rajabaksha, Indira Nagar, Ajni Railway, Great Nag Road, Bara Signal, and nearby localities. Additionally, Godrej Anandam ESR CA areas such as Dakshina Murti Chowk, Kotwali Police Chowk, Juni Shukrawari, Telipura, and Joharipura will also face disruption.
Advisory for Residents
Residents in the affected areas are advised to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during the shutdown period. Supply will be restored immediately after the completion of maintenance work.
