India’s Asia Cup 2025 victory over Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday came with double rewards—one from the organisers and another from the Indian cricket board. After a flawless campaign, the Men in Blue not only bagged the Asia Cup winners’ prize but also received an additional cash award of ₹21 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
This was India’s third consecutive win against Pakistan in just two weeks. Though the final proved to be the closest contest, Suryakumar Yadav’s side held firm, sealing a five-wicket win and lifting the title without a single defeat in the tournament. The performance highlighted the team’s strength in transition, following the retirements of stalwarts Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja.

According to The Economic Times, India will also receive USD 300,000 (around ₹2.6 crore) from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) as official tournament winners’ prize money—an increase compared to earlier editions. However, in a dramatic turn, India declined to accept the winners’ cheque, medals, and trophy from ACC president Mohsin Naqvi, who also heads the Pakistan Cricket Board and holds a ministerial position in Pakistan.
BCCI’s Reward
Calling the triumph “extraordinary,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia announced the ₹21 crore bonus for players and support staff. “This is a proud moment not only for the team but also for Indian cricket and the nation. The money will be distributed among the squad and staff, acknowledging their hard work and commitment,” he said.
The BCCI also shared a celebratory message on social media, underscoring India’s dominance over Pakistan: “Three blows. Zero response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered. ₹21 crores prize money for the team and support staff.”
India’s unbeaten campaign and bold stance at the closing ceremony have set the tone for a new era, signaling that the team remains well-prepared to defend their World Cup crown next year.
