Nagpur: Under the ongoing Operation Thunder, Nagpur City Police, led by Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Singal, have intensified their efforts to curb narcotics in the city. In a major action on September 29, during early morning hours in the Pachpaoli area, the NDPS team, seized 12 grams of heroin (brown sugar category), marking a significant step against illegal drug circulation.
Rakib Ahmed Aminuddin Malik, a resident of Taj Nagar, Teka, Nagpur, was arrested during the operation. He is a repeat offender with prior cases under theft, assault, and the NDPS Act. Another accused, Kayyum Ahmed Amiruddin Malik of Raja Town, Kapil Nagar, is currently absconding and being traced by the police.
Alongside the heroin, authorities also recovered a moped and a mobile phone, with the total value of the seized items estimated at ₹1.71 lakh.
This action is part of Nagpur Police’s larger Operation Thunder initiative, which aims to dismantle narcotics networks and prevent the circulation of illicit drugs in the city. Under the supervision of CP Dr. Ravinder Singal, the NDPS team continues to lead operations with precision and determination, sending a strong message against drug trafficking.
