The Association for Industrial Development (AID) welcomes the announcement of Maharashtra’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy 2025 by the State Cabinet under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis. The policy, which is expected to generate nearly 4 lakh jobs in new 400 GCCs, marks a significant milestone in strengthening Maharashtra’s IT and industry ecosystem.
AID extends its sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Industry Minister Shri Uday Samant, and Minister for Information Technology Shri Ashish Shelar for their vision and leadership.
A delegation of AID, led by President Shri Ashish Kale, Secretary Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma and Executive Committee Member Shri Avinash Ghushe, Dr. Kapil Chandrayan, met and congratulated Dr. P. Anbalagan, Principal Secretary, Industries at his office in Mantralaya Mumbai, for his proactive role in shaping this progressive policy. Notably, the recognition of Nagpur, Nashik, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar as Tier-2 and Tier-3 GCC hubs reflects AID’s consistent advocacy to position emerging two tier cities like Nagpur as the next IT hub of Maharashtra, ensuring balanced regional growth.
Recently, AID President Shri Ashish Kale visited Mumbai to follow up on the association’s proposals with the state leadership. The discussions emphasized the importance of incorporating Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Support, Stamp Duty Exemption, Critical Infrastructure Fund Support, Employment Generation Incentive (EGI), and Electricity Duty Exemption recommendations earlier submitted by AID which have now been included in the GCC Policy.
Alongside this, AID is also pleased that the Maharashtra Tourism Policy has integrated its suggestions, further underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive and region-focused development.
Speaking on the development, AID President Shri Ashish Kale said, The Government’s acceptance of our recommendations is a landmark step toward decentralizing IT growth and unlocking Vidarbha’s potential. This will not only create quality jobs but also ensure that Maharashtra remains ahead in the national competitiveness race.
The Association for Industrial Development reiterates its commitment to working in close collaboration with the government and industry stakeholders to realize the vision of a robust and globally competitive Maharashtra.
