Renowned film actress and wife of Marathi film giant V Shantaram, Sandhya Shantaram, passed away on Saturday due to old age. She was 94.
Known for her performances in films ‘Pinjra, Do Ankhen Barah Haat, Navrang, Zanak Zanak Payal Baje’ and others, she was the doyen of Marathi film. Sandhya was not only known for her acting, but also for her skills in dance in the films.
She was honoured with the National Film Award. The Marathi film industry has suffered a great loss in Sandhya, who was an inspiration for many generations.
