Nagpur: Young basketball talent Soham Ghodmare from Pawanbhoomi Krida Mandal (PKM) has earned a place in the Maharashtra team for the 50th Sub-Junior National Basketball Championship, organised by the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) at Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The U-13 national tournament will continue till October 10.
Soham’s selection comes on the back of an impressive performance at the Maharashtra State Championship in Solapur, where the Nagpur sub-junior team clinched the bronze medal. He is among the 12 players chosen to represent the state.
The Maharashtra boys’ preparatory camp was recently held in Mumbai ahead of the national event. Soham, a student of Montfort School, hones his basketball skills under the guidance of Narendra Katole and Sagar Vaishnav at the PKM courts.
MSBA President and MLC Sandip Joshi, along with NDBA Secretary Bhavesh Kuchanwar, extended their congratulations to Soham on his achievement and wished him success in the national championship.
