Nagpur is set to witness a captivating evening of classical dance as Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Kalasrjan Academy of Indian Classical Music, Dance and Fine Arts presents a Kathak recital by celebrated dancer and choreographer Guru Vidhi Lal.
The performance, part of the ‘Kaladarshan’ series showcasing traditional Indian art forms, will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 6:15 pm at Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Auditorium, Civil Lines. The event is being organised under the joint aegis of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Bhavan’s Kalasrjan Academy, Nagpur Kendra.
Guru Vidhi Lal, a distinguished disciple of the Jaipur Gharana, is known for her mastery and innovation in the classical dance form. She is also the daughter-in-law of renowned Kathak exponent Guru Geetanjali Lal.
A recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, Vidhi Lal holds a Guinness World Record for completing 103 spins in one minute, a testament to her technical brilliance and artistic finesse.
The upcoming recital promises an enthralling experience for classical dance enthusiasts, blending tradition with graceful storytelling through rhythm and expression.
