Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma’s restaurant, Kap’s Café, was once again targeted in a shooting outside its premises on Thursday — the third such incident in the past four months.
According to reports, the latest attack was claimed by gang members Kulveer Sidhu and Goldy Dhillon, both known associates of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In a social media post, the duo took responsibility for the firing, asserting that their actions were not directed toward the general public but toward individuals who had allegedly wronged or cheated them.
The post read: “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Today’s firing at Kap’s Café, Surrey, was carried out by me, Kulveer Sidhu, and Goldy Dhillon. We hold no grudge against the general public. Those who owe us or cheat us will be warned. Bollywood individuals who speak against our religion should also be prepared — bullets can come from anywhere.”
This is the third attack on Kap’s Café since June. The first incident was reportedly claimed by Harjit Singh Laddi, a wanted terrorist linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). That attack was allegedly in response to remarks by Kapil Sharma perceived as offensive to the Nihang Sikh community. The second attack, meanwhile, was linked to gangs affiliated with Goldy Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi.
Bishnoi, currently in prison, is notorious for orchestrating violent attacks against public figures, including an alleged plot targeting actor Salman Khan over his involvement in the blackbuck hunting case — a matter deeply sensitive to the Bishnoi community, which considers the animal sacred.
Kapil Sharma, whose popular comedy shows were previously produced by Salman Khan, recently moved to Netflix for his latest venture, The Great Indian Kapil Show.
The recent spate of shootings adds to a growing concern over gang-linked violence in the entertainment industry. Last October, politician Baba Siddique was also targeted in a shooting near his Bandra residence in Mumbai, an attack similarly claimed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
