Nagpur: To manage the heavy passenger rush during the Diwali festival, the Central Railway has announced the operation of 18 special trains connecting Nagpur, Mumbai, and Pune. The initiative aims to provide additional travel options and ease congestion on popular routes during the festive season.
As per the schedule, special services will run on both the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)–Nagpurand Pune–Nagpur routes.
CSMT–Nagpur Special Trains:
- Train No. 01011 (CSMT–Nagpur Special) will depart from CSMT at 12:20 am on October 26, 28, and 30, reaching Nagpur at 4:05 pm the same day.
- Train No. 01012 (Nagpur–CSMT Special) will leave Nagpur at 10:10 pm on the same dates — October 26, 28, and 30 — and arrive at CSMT at 2:05 pm the next day.
Pune–Nagpur Special Trains:
- Train No. 01409 (Pune–Nagpur Special) will depart from Pune at 8:30 pm on October 25, 27, and 29, reaching Nagpur at 2:05 pm the following day.
- Train No. 01410 (Nagpur–Pune Special) will leave Nagpur at 4:10 pm on October 26, 28, and 30, and reach Pune at 11:45 am the next day.
Railway officials said these additional trains are part of the Central Railway’s ongoing effort to enhance passenger convenience during high-demand travel periods. The special services are expected to reduce crowding and ensure smoother travel for Diwali revellers heading to and from Nagpur.
