Nagpur: The much-awaited Season Two of the Kickflicks Little Legends League is set to begin on November 15, featuring over 38 teams and 400 young footballers from various schools and academies across the city. The tournament will continue till January 18 at Joggers Park, Sneh Nagar.
The event will see matches across five age categories — Under-8 (4-a-side), Under-9 (5-a-side), Under-11 (6-a-side), Under-13 (7-a-side), and Under-15 (9-a-side). Announcing the details during a press conference and jersey launch held on Sunday, Jay Kothari, Co-founder of Kickflicks, said, “Each format is designed to foster growth at every stage, emphasizing technical skill, discipline, and sportsmanship.”
The league will follow a league-cum-knockout format, with single round-robin matches for the Under-9 category and double round-robin formats for the Under-11, Under-13, and Under-15 groups.
Highlighting the holistic approach of the event, Utkarsh Kale of Kickflicks added, “We aim to give children a real league experience. Along with matches, we’ve planned nourishment sessions and nutrition workshops for players and parents to help with recovery and overall development.”
The tournament is being organised in association with Vishal Kids, Trivandrum Cafe, Therefore Media, Neer Financial, 8lete, Ranikothi Group, Book A Sport (BAS), and Remedic.
Kickflicks committee members Pranav Bharadwaj, Sagar Yadav, Rudveek Bhende, and Ayushi Nagpure were present at the event, which was also attended by NDFA referee Bernard Dsouza, who lauded the initiative for promoting grassroots football in the city.
