The United Football Welfare Association is set to kick off the 10th Majju Seth Memorial All India Gold Cup Football Tournament from November 21 to 30 at the Military Ground in Kamptee, bringing together top teams from across the country for the prestigious event.
Speaking to the media, association secretary Hehfooz Akhter and Ishrat Kamal announced that a total of 12 teams—three from Kamptee and nine from other states—will compete for the coveted title. The home teams participating are Rabbani Club, defending champions Young Muslim Football Club, and SE Railway.
The nine outstation contenders include United FC Siwan, J&K Bank, CISF Delhi, MYJ Mumbai, Red Army Bengaluru, Chennai Customs, MEG Bengaluru, and SJC Kerala. All teams will be divided into four groups of three, with the group toppers advancing to the semifinals.
The tournament will open with a clash between SECR and United FC Siwan at 3 pm on the first day. Thereafter, two matches will be played daily.
Association president Ahfaz Ahmad, working president Mohammad Israil, and Mohammad Mohtashim are overseeing preparations, while patron and former minister Anees Ahmed is guiding efforts to make the tournament a grand success.
