The Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (Mumbai), Federation of Associations of Maharashtra (FAM), Chamber of Associations of Maharashtra Industries and Trade, Grain, Rice, Oil Seeds Merchants Association (Mumbai), and The Puna Merchants Chamber have given a call for ‘Business Bandh’ across Maharashtra on December 5. The decision was taken during a meeting of representatives of several associations of business houses in Pune.
The Bandh call has been given to protest the neglect of their demands by the government. The business organisations have expressed discontent over Market Committee Rules, deficiencies in the proposed National Market Committee policy, action on businessmen under Food Safety and Legal Metrology Rules etc.
The Bandh call is symbolic and will be intensified in the future.
