IndiGo is working to stabilise operations after widespread flight cancellations created nationwide disruption. To compensate affected travellers, the airline is offering ₹10,000 travel vouchers to passengers stranded between December 3 and 5. These vouchers can be used for any future IndiGo flight and will remain valid for 12 months.
The announcement was made through IndiGo’s official X handle. The airline clarified that this voucher is in addition to full ticket refunds and the existing government-mandated compensation of ₹5,000–₹10,000. IndiGo also stated that most refunds have already been processed, with the remaining ones to be issued soon.
Airline’s Winter Schedule Cut by 10%
Reiterating its commitment to customer care, IndiGo said, “Our foremost priority continues to be the care of our customers… we are committed to restoring the experience you expect from us: safe, smooth, and reliable.”
According to a media report, IndiGo has had no same-day cancellations in the past three days, aside from weather, technical, or other unavoidable operational issues. However, the government has reduced the airline’s winter schedule by 10%, citing inadequate preparation for new flight-safety norms—an issue that contributed to severe crew shortages and left thousands of passengers stranded.
To support affected travellers, Indian Railways set up help desks at multiple airports for train bookings and even deployed special trains to ensure passengers could reach their destinations with minimal further disruption.
