Over 129 flights were cancelled as dense fog continued to engulf Delhi and the National Capital Region early Saturday, severely reducing visibility and disrupting road and air traffic, even as air quality remained poor in several areas.
According to airport sources, the weather conditions forced the cancellation of 129 scheduled flights at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, including 66 arrivals and 63 departures.
Thick fog covered major roads and residential areas across the city, affecting movement throughout the region. Motorists drove cautiously as visibility dropped sharply at several locations. By 8.30 am, the lowest visibility levels recorded were 200 metres at Safdarjung and 350 metres at Palam.
