Aman Gedam from Nagpur has achieved remarkable success in the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Engineering Services Examination (ESE). In the recently announced ESE 2025 final results, Aman secured an impressive All India Rank of 60, marking a significant milestone after persevering through three attempts.
A resident of New Thaware Colony in North Nagpur, Aman Sharad Gedam has been working with the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for the past two years. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from VNIT in 2019. After graduation, he worked for three years with a private company in Mumbai. Upon his selection at NTPC, Aman left his Mumbai job while simultaneously setting his goal of clearing the Engineering Services Examination.
Balancing shift-based duties at NTPC with exam preparation proved challenging, making it difficult to maintain a consistent study schedule.
Despite this, Aman ensured daily study sessions of three to four hours whenever possible and dedicated entire days to preparation during holidays. He began appearing for the ESE in 2023 and, after two unsuccessful attempts, achieved success in his third try.
Aman’s father, Sharad Gedam, is a retired manager from the Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Development Corporation, while his mother is a homemaker. Aman has credited his success to the constant support and encouragement of his parents.
Every year, thousands of candidates appear for this highly competitive and prestigious examination, with successful candidates appointed as Indian Engineering Services officers in various technical and managerial roles under the Central Government. Speaking to Lokmat Times, Aman expressed his desire to serve in the energy or defence sector.
He added that after completing the medical examination, he would receive his departmental posting.
