This has been proved by many successful persons, said Dr Anant Pandhare, chairman of All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Dr Pandhare was delivering the 113th convocation of Rashtrasant tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University on Friday. The University’s Vice-Chancellor Dr Manali Kshirsagar was in the chair.
Expressing gratitude for inviting him for the convocation of the University, which has produced the president, prime minister, chief justice of India, several ministers and litterateurs and renowned persons in various fields, Dr Pandhare said that the university holds an important position in Indian educational history. The teachers have a major role in helping the students realise their potential and developing confidence. This will help in removing the fear of failure and work with focus without misleading offers. The students should feel proud of the university which groomed them, he added..
During the Convocation Makrand Vinayak Pande was awarded D Litt in Economics at the hands of 95-year-old Dr Vinayak Kiasanrao Pande. Dr Deepak Mahadevrao Wankhede was awarded D Litt in Geography and Ghanshyam Vithobaji Mange was honoutred with Dr Vitthalrao Jibhkate Award for getting PhD at the age of 65 years.
RTMNU VC Dr Kshirsagar in her remarks recalled achievements of the University and advised the students to use their knowledge for the welfare of the society.
A total of 140 students from winter 2024 and summer 2025 examinations were awarded 194 Gold Medals, 8 Silver Medals and 27 Prizes during the convocation.
