Polling for the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) elections was held on January 15, 2026, with counting of votes taken up on January 16. Over 24.47 lakh voters participated in the election to choose corporators across the city.
Nagpur has 38 wards, which together elect 151 corporators to the civic body. In the previous NMC election held in 2017, the BJP had emerged as the dominant party, winning 108 seats, while the Congress secured 29 seats. Other parties, including the BSP, Shiv Sena, NCP and independents, shared the remaining seats.
Early results in the 2026 polls indicate a strong showing by the BJP once again. Several BJP candidates have been declared winners across wards, strengthening the party’s position in the civic body.

- Ward 214: Ajay Patil
- Ward 215: Santosh Dhole
Other parties have also registered wins in select wards, including Shiv Sena (UBT), Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), Congress and independents.
The vote counting process is being conducted under strict guidelines of the State Election Commission, with security and administrative arrangements in place to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise. Final results and the complete list of winners will be announced after counting concludes for all wards.
