In a major boost to affordable housing in the Nagpur metropolitan region, the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) has constructed a total of 4,345 residential units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) across multiple locations, including Tarodi (Khurd), Wanjari and Wathoda.
Of the total housing stock, 3,743 homes have already been handed over to eligible beneficiaries. These include 808 units at Tarodi (Khurd) Survey No. 62, 2,159 units at Tarodi (Khurd) Survey No. 63, 225 units at Wanjari (Plot No. 1), 295 units at Wanjari (Plot No. 2), and 256 units at Wathoda. The projects aim to provide dignified and permanent housing to economically weaker sections in the rapidly expanding outskirts of Nagpur.
For the remaining 593 units, an online lottery draw was conducted on January 20, 2026, at the NMRDA headquarters on Station Road, Sadar. Applicants from the waiting list for projects at Tarodi (Khurd), Wathoda and Wanjari participated in the transparent digital draw. As many as 593 winners were declared, and the final winner list has been uploaded on the official portal.
Metropolitan Commissioner Sanjay Meena congratulated the successful beneficiaries, calling the initiative a key step towards fulfilling the government’s commitment of “Housing for All.” Senior officials, engineers, nodal officers and independent supervisors were present to ensure transparency during the draw.
NMRDA officials said that allotment letters, intent letters and demand notices will soon be dispatched to the winners. Beneficiaries have been asked to personally submit required documents within the stipulated timeframe and complete payment formalities to take possession of their homes.
