Operational changes in the timetable of the Mumbai–Nagpur–Mumbai Duronto Express will result in an additional 20 minutes of running time on the popular route. At present, Train No. 12289/12290 takes about 11 hours 35 minutes and 11 hours 55 minutes respectively to cover the over 800-km distance. However, from April onwards, the journey time will increase by 20 minutes.
The revised timings will come into effect from April 14. Currently, Train No. 12289 CSMT–Nagpur Duronto reaches Nagpur at 7.20 am, which will be revised to 8.20 am, marking a delay of one hour. Similarly, the departure time of Train No. 12290 Nagpur–CSMT Duronto Express will be changed from the existing 8.30 pm to 7.55 pm. As a result, the train will take an additional 20 minutes to cover the Nagpur–Mumbai stretch.
From April 14, the arrival time of Train No. 12289 at Nagpur will also be revised to 7.50 am instead of the current 8.05 am. Overall, the Duronto Express will require 20 extra minutes to complete the journey. Consequently, the train will reach Mumbai at 8.20 am instead of the present 7.20 am.
Passengers travelling to the state capital have expressed inconvenience over the revised ex-Nagpur timings, stating that advancing the Duronto’s schedule by half an hour is unnecessary.
Vidarbha Express:
The Railways has also revised the timings of the 12105 CSMT–Nagpur–Gondia Vidarbha Express at Badnera railway station. As per the new schedule, the train will halt at Badnera at 6.05 am instead of the present 6.00 am.
Garib Rath:
Central Railway has also tweaked the timings of the Pune–Nagpur Garib Rath and the Pune–Nagpur Express, both of which operate thrice a week. Trains currently terminating at Nagpur at 9.10 am will now arrive at 9.20 am. These changes will take effect from April 15.
