The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have held constructive discussions and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the successful conduct of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Both sides agreed that all participating members will honour their commitments and work together with integrity, neutrality and cooperation to serve the best interests of the game.The ICC also emphasised continued support for cricket’s growth in Bangladesh, assuring that the national team’s absence from the 2026 tournament will not have long-term negative effects on the sport in the country.Meanwhile, Pakistan has decided to withdraw its earlier boycott and will play the scheduled February 15 match against India. The decision followed high-level consultations between the PCB, ICC, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), and the Government of Pakistan, after PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi briefed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the outcomes of the talks.Pakistan had initially refused to play India in solidarity with Bangladesh after the latter was excluded from the tournament over security-related issues. However, following diplomatic discussions with several countries and appeals from cricket boards, the Pakistani government directed the national team to participate in the match, signalling a cooperative resolution to the dispute.
