As arch-rivals India and Pakistan prepare for their high-stakes cricket encounter in Colombo on Sunday, February 15, illegal betting networks across Vidarbha are gearing up for what bookies predict will be a record-breaking day. Underground operators estimate that betting volumes from the Nagpur–Vidarbha region alone could touch ₹700 crore, underscoring the enormous wagering appetite surrounding one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries.
Just 24 hours before the match, betting markets signalled strong confidence in an Indian victory, quoting India at just 30 paise while offering a record ₹3 on Pakistan.
Significant wagers are also expected on key players. Explosive opener Abhishek Sharma, along with Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav, has drawn substantial confidence from both fans and betting circles.
According to market sources, if India wins the toss, Pakistan’s odds may remain at ₹3 while India’s stay around 30 paise. If India loses the toss, Pakistan’s rate could ease to ₹2.5, with India moving to 40 paise. Overall, bookmakers appear to have heavily favoured India.
Meanwhile, the prominent betting hubs of Phalodi in Rajasthan and Indore in Madhya Pradesh have also projected that Team India holds the upper hand and is likely to defeat Pakistan in this much-anticipated contest.
For this single fixture, nationwide betting turnover is expected to run into thousands of crores, with estimates suggesting ₹700 crore from Nagpur–Vidarbha and nearly ₹1,500 crore across central India.
