Two 19-year-old youths were killed in a tragic accident on the Kachipura–Bajajnagar road after a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle, being driven at excessive speed, crashed into a row of cement posts. The accident occurred between 9:45 PM and 10:10 PM near Dana Pani Savji Hotel on February 16, 2026. The bike, which lacked a number plate, was reportedly being ridden in a rash and dangerous manner.The deceased have been identified as Yug Vishal Chandkapure (rider) and Rudra Shashikant Somkunwar (pillion), both residents of Ramdaspeth, Kachipura.
According to police, the motorcycle grazed a pedestrian girl, causing the rider to lose control before the vehicle collided with ten cement posts on the footpath. Both sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Wockhardt Hospital and subsequently to GMCH, where they were declared dead.
Bajajnagar Police have registered a case against the motorcycle rider under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 106(1) and 281, relating to causing death by rash or negligent act and rash driving endangering human life. Further investigation is underway.
