A two-day “Divyang Nagpur District Convention,” organized by Samadrishti Kshamata Vikas evam Anusandhan Mandal (Saksham)—an organization working for the holistic development of persons with disabilities—was successfully held at Veer Savarkar Auditorium in an enthusiastic atmosphere.
The convention was inaugurated by Ashok Bujone, Sanghchalak of the Nandanvan division of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. On the occasion, Rahul Lekurwale, Secretary of Para Volleyball Maharashtra; Dilip Senad, Patron of Sanskrit Bharati; and Dr. Milind Hardas, President of Saksham Nagpur Mahanagar, were prominently present.Various discussions and cultural programs were organized throughout the day.
Around 150 participants from 17 schools and different institutions working for persons with disabilities took part in multiple competitions organized for the divyang community. Prizes were distributed to the winners.The valedictory session was attended by District Empowerment Officer Ajay Ahivale, Mr. Mundhe, Dr. Ruchi Jain, and Sujit Shinde. The introductory address was delivered by Dr. Milind Hardas, while the program was anchored by Pragya Anasane.
The convention witnessed a good turnout of persons with disabilities, parents, and citizens.On this occasion, Dr. Shraddhanand Sharma (Vice President, Saksham Nagpur Mahanagar), Dr. Avinash Agnihotri (General Secretary, Madhav Netralaya), Sandeep Dharmadhikari, Dr. Arundhati Bhave, Ramdev Agrawal (Vidarbha Province Vice President), Dr. Jayashree Shiwalkar, Dr. Namdev Raut, and office-bearers of various disability organizations were present.
The event was made successful with the support of Sanjay Patil, Manish Kesarwani, Sachin Deshpande, Arun Palandurkar, Kamal Kishore Sarda, Uday Rao, Dinesh Sharma, Dinesh Deshpande, Sanjay Bobhate, Sunil Parekh, Brijlal Hurkat, Rajesh Chauhan, Manik Saraf, Jayashree Deshpande, Dr. Pragya Raut, Pragya Anasane, Archana Shravane, Dhananjay Upasani, Vikas Khalatkar, Sagar, and others.
