The district administration on Tuesday assured citizens that there is no shortage of fuel in Nagpur and appealed to the public not to believe in rumours.
District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar stated that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG cylinders are available across the district. The supply position has been reviewed in coordination with oil marketing companies and local authorities to ensure uninterrupted distribution.
Officials informed that fuel supplies from Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, and Indian Oil Corporation remain stable in Nagpur district. All three companies have confirmed that sufficient stock of petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG cylinders is available and regular supply will continue without disruption.
At the beginning of March 2026, the price of domestic LPG cylinders (14.2 kg) was increased by ?60, taking the revised rate to ?964.50 per cylinder. The price of commercial LPG cylinders has also been raised to ?1,935. Additionally, the refill eligibility period for domestic cylinders has been extended from 15 days to 25 days.
The district administration, in coordination with the police and oil companies, has taken precautionary measures to maintain adequate petrol and diesel reserves.
Dr Itankar urged residents to avoid unnecessary crowding at petrol pumps and not to pay heed to rumours regarding fuel shortages, reiterating that the situation remains under control.
