Unseasonal weather conditions are likely to affect several parts of Maharashtra in the coming days, raising concerns over possible damage to standing rabi crops. Weather officials have warned of cloudy skies, intermittent rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds across multiple regions of the state.
According to forecasts, districts in Vidarbha, Marathwada, Khandesh and parts of Central Maharashtra are expected to witness unstable weather conditions over the next few days.
Meteorological officials said the weather activity is likely to intensify from March 18, with the most significant impact expected between March 18 and March 20. During this period, some areas may experience heavy rainfall accompanied by isolated hailstorms.
In view of the forecast, the State Agriculture Department has issued an advisory urging farmers to remain cautious. With the rabi harvest season currently underway, authorities have asked cultivators to take necessary precautions to protect their crops from potential damage caused by rain, hail and strong winds.
Farmers have been advised to closely monitor weather updates and make arrangements to safeguard harvested produce and standing crops during the predicted spell of adverse weather.
