Just weeks after generating excitement among fans, Shakira’s highly anticipated India concerts have been postponed, leaving many disappointed.
The organisers, District by Zomato, shared the update on social media, citing the “prevailing geopolitical situation and regional tensions,” a reference to the ongoing US-Iran conflict.
“The well-being of our fans, the artist and the production team remains our foremost priority (sic),” the statement read.
They confirmed that all ticket holders will receive a full refund, which will be automatically processed to the original mode of payment within five to seven business days. The organisers also said they are coordinating with Shakira’s team to reschedule the concerts, with new dates to be announced soon.
The announcement has sparked strong reactions online. Fans expressed their disappointment, with some highlighting that they had been eagerly waiting for the concerts, while others questioned whether additional expenses like travel and accommodation would also be covered.

About Shakira’s India shows
The concerts were part of the Feeding India Concert initiative, organised in collaboration with District by Zomato. They were scheduled for April 10 and 11 in Mumbai, followed by a performance in Delhi on April 15. The shows would have marked Shakira’s return to India after nearly 20 years, her last major concert in the country being in 2007.
Earlier, a concert by Kanye West in New Delhi was also postponed due to the same tensions. Originally scheduled for March 29, it has now been rescheduled to May 23.
When announcing her India tour, Shakira had expressed her excitement about returning, calling the country a special place to perform and connect with her fans.
