The second shift of the B.Ed CET examination scheduled at Vainganga College of Engineering and Management, Dongargaon, faced significant disruption on Friday after the exam failed to commence on time. The test, slated for 3:00 PM, had not begun even well past the scheduled hour, leaving hundreds of candidates waiting at the centre. Students alleged that they were informed of issues related to non-functional computers and lack of internet connectivity, preventing them from being seated and the Exam from starting.
According to available information, the MH CET examination contract has been awarded to AssesInfra, which further subcontracted EduSpark to handle software operations and conduct the examination at centres. EduSpark is also responsible for providing and managing the examination servers. While the college administration had completed its responsibility by providing computer systems and seating arrangements well in advance, sources said that EduSpark engineers detected a technical fault in their server just about 30 minutes before the exam. The unexpected glitch led to a complete halt in proceedings, raising concerns among candidates over mismanagement and lack of contingency planning.
