Parts of Maharashtra are likely to witness thunderstorm accompanied by rainfall between April 20 and 22, according to the latest weather forecast. Regions including Western Maharashtra (especially ghat areas), Khandesh, Marathwada, and parts of Vidarbha are expected to experience cloudy skies and post-afternoon showers during this period.
The forecast indicates the possibility of lightning, gusty winds, and rainfall, with chances of hailstorms at isolated locations.
On April 19, thunderstorm is expected in the ghat regions of Western Maharashtra, along with parts of North Khandesh and South Marathwada during the afternoon hours.
Rainfall is likely to intensify on April 20 and 21, expanding to cover larger areas including Western Maharashtra (Pune division), Marathwada—particularly southern regions and the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division—and parts of Vidarbha, especially the Amravati division.
However, by April 22, both the intensity and spread of thunderstorm activity are expected to gradually decline.
Authorities have advised residents to remain alert for lightning strikes and sudden weather changes during this period.
