The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup State Level Kabaddi Tournament, considered to be the most prestigious in Maharashtra, has been organized at Koradi from April 30 to May 4. In order to ensure that no stone is left unturned in the preparations for the Kabaddi tournament to be held in the evening in the premises of Sevanand High School here, District Collector Kumar Ashirwad visited the ground today and inspected it. Sports Officer Anil Borawar, State Sports Guide Nishant Patil, Tehsildar Ganesh Jagdale, and Koradi Sansthan Chief Officer Pravin Likhitkar were present with him.
According to the state’s sports policy These kabaddi competitions are held every year by the Sports Department of the Maharashtra Government. The Vidarbha Kabaddi Association had expressed its desire that this year’s sports competitions should be held in Koradi. Responding to this, Sanket Bawankule, President of Nagpur District Rural Kabaddi Association, decided to hold these competitions in the premises of his Sevanand High School. The Sports Department is taking precautions to ensure that there is no mistake for this competition. District Collector Ashirwad clarified that the concerned should take care to ensure complete cleanliness of this area.
Considering the increasing heat, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule gave instructions to plan to take care of the players as well as the spectators. As per his instructions, the organizers and the sports department decided to hold the competition after the heat subsides, i.e. in the evening. A total of four ground courts are being constructed at this place and each ground will be of matt. District Collector Kumar Ashirwad, after visiting and inspecting the ground, gave instructions to the organizing committee to take full care and attention to this ground at the engineering level. Along with this, considering the night games, he also gave instructions to have adequate lighting and necessary security arrangements on the ground. In order to provide refreshment facilities to the spectators at the competition venue, various stalls are being set up through women’s self-help groups.
A total of 32 teams of boys and girls from the state are participating in this. 16 teams are for boys and 16 teams are for girls. Accommodation arrangements have been made for all the players at the MLA residence and special transport facilities have been made for them.
