A 29-year-old man from Nagpur was found dead in a rented PG accommodation in Gurugram, with police suspecting a possible overdose of sex enhancement medication as the cause of death.
The deceased, identified as Rohit Lal, was employed at the Quality Council of India office in New Delhi and had been residing in a rented flat in Gurugram’s Sector 53 area.
According to police officials, the incident came to light on Thursday morning after a colleague raised the alarm. The colleague informed authorities that they usually travelled to work together, but Rohit did not respond to calls and also failed to open his door that day.
Police reached the location and broke open the door, where they found Rohit lying dead on the bed. During the inspection, officials recovered wrappers of medicines and health supplements from the room, leading to suspicions of substance consumption prior to his death.
A senior investigating officer said Rohit had reportedly planned to meet his fiancée, who was expected to visit him, but he died before she could arrive. Preliminary observations suggest that he may have consumed sex enhancement drugs, and an overdose could have triggered a cardiac arrest.
Station House Officer Satender Rawal of Sector 53 police station stated that the viscera samples and recovered materials have been sent for forensic analysis, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the report.
After the postmortem examination, the body was handed over to the family. Police have launched a detailed investigation and are exploring all possible angles in the case.
