The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the deadline to May 5 for submitting comments on a proposal about cheaper mobile plans without data.
Earlier, the last date was April 28, but it was extended after requests from stakeholders.
TRAI wants telecom companies to offer low-cost plans that include only calling and SMS, without internet data. It also noted that such plans are currently priced too high and not reduced enough even after removing data.
Since earlier changes did not give the expected results, TRAI has made a new proposal.
People can also submit counter-comments on this proposal until May 12.
