The process for the 16th Census in the city is set to commence from May 1, with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) overseeing data collection. The exercise will be conducted in two phases.
The first phase, self-enumeration, will run until May 16, during which citizens must submit their details online. Civic officials have urged residents to cooperate by providing accurate information.
For the Census work, NMC has deployed 45,000 surveyors and 700 supervisors, with each surveyor assigned to cover around 800 residents. The second phase, from May 16 to June 24, will involve door-to-door visits by surveyors across NMC limits. Data will be recorded using the HLO App (House Listing Operation Application).
According to the 2011 Census, Nagpur’s population stood at 24,05,665, including 12,25,405 men and 11,80,260 women.Surveyors will collect details on housing type, household materials, and family information.
Citizens will be required to answer 33 questions, including the number of people residing in each household and other related details.
