A 20-year-old youth who was injured in a road accident was allegedly robbed by three men who first pretended to help him before threatening him with a knife and fleeing with cash and gold rings worth Rs 77,500.The incident occurred near Punjabi Dhaba on Amravati Road in the Wadi area.
According to police, Vishal Virendra Kothari (20), a resident of Queta Colony in Lakadganj, was travelling with friends when their car tyre burst near Gondkhairi, causing the vehicle to crash into a divider. Vishal suffered injuries to both hands in the accident.While his friends were searching for help, they stopped two youths riding a Pulsar motorcycle and requested assistance.
The duo offered to help and took Vishal along on their bike.However, instead of taking him for medical help, the accused allegedly took Vishal to the New MHADA Colony area on Surabardi Road, where they called another accomplice. Police said the trio then threatened the injured youth with a knife and forcibly snatched Rs 2,500 in cash along with three gold rings weighing around 15 grams.
The accused fled after Vishal’s friend reached the spot. Based on the victim’s complaint, Wadi Police have registered a robbery case and launched a search for the three unidentified accused.
