The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Wednesday conducted raids in Vidarbha’s Bhandara and Chandrapur districts as part of an investigation into suspected individuals allegedly following social media platforms linked to Pakistani terrorists.
According to sources, the action is part of a wider statewide operation being carried out by the ATS across Maharashtra. Officials are reportedly examining the online activities, digital footprints and possible connections of certain suspects who came under the agency’s radar during cyber surveillance.
Sources said the raids were conducted to verify the background and activities of the individuals under suspicion. However, no official statement regarding arrests or recoveries had been issued till the filing of this report.
The ATS operation is said to be continuing at multiple locations across Maharashtra as part of ongoing efforts to monitor and curb extremist and anti-national online activities.
