Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is finally heading to OTT after weeks of speculation over its digital release, with a unique two-platform streaming strategy that has sparked major interest among fans. While Netflix will stream the film for international audiences, JioHotstar has secured exclusive rights for India.
The unusual distribution model has become a key talking point, especially after reports confirmed that the OTT version will feature an extended and uncensored cut that goes beyond the theatrical release.
Dhurandhar 2 gets split OTT release
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will begin streaming internationally on Netflix from May 14–15, 2026, depending on time zones. However, the film will not be available on Netflix in India. Instead, Indian audiences will get access exclusively via JioHotstar, bringing an end to ongoing speculation over its digital rollout. Since the first instalment streamed on Netflix, many expected a similar release pattern for the sequel.
Netflix version to feature ‘Raw & Unseen’ cut
For international viewers, Netflix will stream the film under titles such as Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Raw & Undekha) or Raw & Unseen. This version is being promoted as a more intense cut, featuring uncensored content and additional scenes not included in the theatrical release.
The OTT edition reportedly runs for around 3 hours and 52 minutes—about three minutes longer than the theatrical runtime of 3 hours and 49 minutes. Sources indicate that the streaming version restores certain dialogues, includes sharper action sequences, and features extended footage trimmed for theatrical certification.
JioHotstar secures India digital rights
In India, JioHotstar has acquired exclusive streaming rights in a deal reportedly worth nearly Rs 150 crore, making it one of the biggest OTT acquisitions for an Indian film in recent times. Indian viewers are also expected to receive the extended version when the film premieres on the platform.
The dual-platform release strategy, with different branding and versions for domestic and international audiences, is being seen as an unusual move for a major Indian film.
Growing trend of extended OTT cuts
The release of Dhurandhar 2 reflects a growing trend in Indian cinema, where filmmakers offer extended or uncensored versions on OTT platforms after theatrical runs. With its nearly four-hour runtime and split global release strategy, the film stands out as one of the most prominent examples of this evolving distribution model.
