A 16-year-old boy lost his life after falling nearly 45 feet when a zipline cable allegedly snapped at an amusement facility in Agra’s Tajganj area on Sunday evening.
The victim, identified as Kunal Agrawal, had visited the recreational site with his family. A video of the incident circulating on social media reportedly shows Kunal striking a structure beneath the zipline before falling to the ground.
According to police, Kunal — the son of Firozabad-based bangle trader Pankaj Agrawal — was midway through the zipline ride when the cable reportedly gave way.
Police officials rushed to the scene after receiving information about the accident. Kunal was taken to Sarojini Naidu Medical College (SNMC), where doctors declared him dead.
An FIR has been registered and an investigation is currently underway.
Authorities said the amusement facility comes under the Agra Development Authority (ADA), while the adventure activities were being operated by a private contractor.
Following the incident, all adventure activities at the facility have been suspended, police said.
