Eleven MSc students from the Postgraduate Department of Physics at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) have earned recognition for securing 19 patents during the 2025-26 academic session under the guidance of Dr Sanjay Dhoble, senior professor and Head of the Department.
The students involved in the patent work are Himani Lanjewar, Chahul Gaydhane, Gayatri Barde, Ritika Gawli, Vanshri Donekar, Sejal Fate, Sumitkumar Pandey, Nayan Ramgonwar, Vaishnavi Thote, Siddheshwar Nagpure and Priyanka Charde.According to the university, the patents have received recognition at both national and international levels.
Dr Dhoble has been actively mentoring students in research on socially relevant and academically important subjects, encouraging them to publish research papers, file patents and present their work at conferences.
Dr Dhoble said that exposure to research at the postgraduate level motivates students to pursue PhD and post-doctoral studies abroad.The department has so far sent 16 students overseas for post-doctoral studies.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Manali Kshirsagar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Akhilesh Peshwe and Registrar Dr Raju Hivase congratulated the students and Dr Dhoble for the achievement.
