“Fire Engineering is more than a career; it is a commitment to public safety, disaster resilience and national service,” said Dr. Atul Vaidya, Vice-Chancellor, Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University (LITU), while addressing the graduating students at the 4th Deekshant Parade of the 29th Batch of B.Tech. Fire Engineering students at the National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur.
The grand ceremony marked the successful completion of four years of rigorous academic, physical and professional training by 64 graduating students, including three women students, who are now prepared to serve the nation in the fields of fire engineering, industrial safety, disaster management and emergency response services.
The Deekshant Parade was graced by Dr. Atul Vaidya as the Chief Guest. Dr. A. R. Sontake, Director & Professor, NFSC, was present on the occasion. The parade was commanded by Satyam Pathak, whose contingent displayed exemplary discipline, coordination and precision during the ceremonial march-past.
Congratulating the graduating students, Dr. Vaidya emphasized that Fire Engineering is a profession of immense national importance, dedicated to protecting lives, industries, critical infrastructure and the environment.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. A. R. Sontake highlighted NFSC’s achievements in higher education, research and development, consultancy, incubation and innovation. He noted that the 29th Batch had brought laurels to the institution by securing an international patent in the names of the students and NFSC, besides presenting technical papers at the prestigious Fire India International Conference. He also announced that admissions for the 33rd Batch of B.Tech. Fire Engineering have commenced from May 15 and are receiving an overwhelming response from JEE aspirants across the country, reflecting the growing recognition of Fire Engineering as a promising and specialized profession with significant career opportunities in India and abroad.
The graduating students took an oath of professional integrity, discipline and dedicated service to the nation. The ceremony concluded with prize distribution followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Gyan Singh, Deputy Director, NFSC.
The event was attended by parents, faculty members, NFSC alumni, officers, staff members, invited guests and media representatives, who gathered to celebrate this proud milestone in the lives of the graduating students.
