As part of its monsoon preparedness and disaster management initiative for 2026, the Commissionerate of Police, Nagpur City organized a comprehensive training session and practical demonstration in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Futala Lake on Thursday.
A total of 125 police officers and personnel from Nagpur City Police participated in the training program, which was conducted from 7:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. The session focused on disaster response techniques, rescue operations during floods and other natural calamities, water rescue methods, emergency preparedness, and coordination during crisis situations.
The training and mock drills were conducted under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch), and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Special Branch). PSI Ganesh Kejkar coordinated the program along with NDRF officials.
The practical demonstrations were led by NDRF Team Leader Inspector Mishra, Inspector Brijesh Yadav, and their team, who showcased various rescue and evacuation techniques to enhance the preparedness of police personnel for monsoon-related emergencies.
The initiative aims to strengthen the disaster response capabilities of Nagpur Police and ensure effective coordination with specialized rescue agencies during natural disasters, particularly during the upcoming monsoon season.
