Vishva Samvad Kendra (Former Vidarbha Region) will organize the annual Devarshi Narad Jayanti Journalist Awards Ceremony on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 5:30 PM at the Vanamati Auditorium, Civil Lines, Nagpur. The event will be attended by noted Supreme Court advocate and Padma Shri awardee Adv. Ujjwal Nikam as the chief guest, while senior journalist Sunil Sathe of Prahar Pravah will be present as a distinguished guest.
The awards are presented every year on the occasion of Devarshi Narad Jayanti to honor outstanding contributions in the field of journalism. Journalists from print and electronic media, photojournalists, citizen journalists, radio news presenters, digital media professionals, weekly publications, and meritorious journalism students are recognized for their work. This year marks the 17th edition of the awards.
The awardees are selected unanimously by an independent selection committee, and no applications are invited for the awards.
The recipients of the 2026 Devarshi Narad Awards are:
Print Media Award: Nikhil Bhute (Maharashtra Times, Nagpur)
Electronic Media (News Channels) Award: Divyesh Dwivedi (UCN News, Nagpur)
Photojournalism Award: Sanjay Tiwariya (Lokmat Times, Nagpur)
Citizen Journalist Award: Nikita Gawande
Digital Media Award: Shankhnad (Sunil Kuhikar)
Weekly Publication Award: Jeevan Vikas (Ramakrishna Math)
Radio Journalism Award: Hemangi Kulkarni (Akashvani)
Under the category of Encouragement Awards for Meritorious Journalism Students, Ved Gulghule from the Department of Mass Communication, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, and Vaishnavi Thakre from the Department of Mass Communication, Dhanwate National College, will be honored.
Award winners will receive a shawl, coconut, memento, and a cash prize. Vishva Samvad Kendra stated that the initiative aims to encourage responsible journalism and recognize individuals and institutions contributing positively to society through the dissemination of accurate and constructive information.
