The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has sealed Nanking’s Hotel for allegedly violating mandatory fire safety norms, officials said.
During an inspection, authorities found that the establishment lacked several essential fire safety measures and equipment required to handle emergency situations.
Officials noted that the deficiencies posed a serious risk to the safety of guests, staff, and visitors, potentially leading to a major accident in the event of a fire.
Taking a strict view of the violations, the civic administration ordered the immediate sealing of the hotel and suspended its operations until compliance with the prescribed fire safety regulations is ensured.
NMC officials stated that the action is part of an ongoing drive to enforce fire safety standards across the city. The administration has also warned other hotels, restaurants, and commercial establishments to strictly adhere to fire safety requirements or face similar action.
The civic body reiterated that public safety remains its top priority and that stringent measures will continue against establishments found compromising on mandatory safety norms.
