A 72-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a speeding four-wheeler in a hit-and-run incident near Gajanan Mandir in the Mahal area of Nagpur.According to information, the accident occurred around 5:30 am on Sunday when Mukund Babhare (72), a resident of Zenda Chowk, Mahal, was walking from Badkas Chowk towards Aychit Mandir.
As he reached near Gajanan Mandir, a four-wheeler reportedly approaching at high speed rammed into him with great force.Babhare sustained serious injuries in the collision and was rushed for medical treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.The driver of the offending vehicle fled the spot immediately after the accident. Despite efforts by the police, the four-wheeler driver has not yet been traced.
The incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, and police are examining the footage to identify the vehicle and its driver. Further investigation is underway.
