Security arrangements for the upcoming NEET examination have been significantly tightened, with consignments of confidential question papers reportedly arriving in Nagpur aboard Indian Air Force-monitored cargo flights.
According to reports, the first aircraft carrying sensitive examination material landed at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport on Sunday night around 10 pm. After remaining on the ground for nearly 45 minutes, the aircraft departed for Pune. Two more flights carrying examination-related consignments reportedly reached Nagpur on Monday morning. The movement of the material was carried out under a strict security framework, with access restricted to authorised officials and security personnel.
The heightened precautions come in the backdrop of the NEET paper leak controversy that triggered nationwide concern earlier this year. Authorities have since strengthened protocols governing the transportation, handling and storage of examination materials to eliminate the risk of tampering or unauthorised access. Sources said the consignments were received and transferred under closely monitored procedures. The operation was reportedly treated as highly confidential, with details of flight schedules and cargo movement shared only with a limited number of officials.
The deployment of Air Force logistics forms part of a broader nationwide strategy to safeguard the integrity of the NEET examination process. Reports indicate that confidential question paper packets are being transported to multiple centres across the country under enhanced security arrangements.
Nagpur’s strategic location and well-established logistics infrastructure have made it an important transit and distribution hub for the movement of sensitive examination material. While officials have not issued any formal statement regarding the consignments that arrived in the city, reports suggest that unprecedented security measures have been put in place this year to ensure a secure and leak-proof conduct of the examination.
