Transport-related services across Nagpur remained severely affected on Wednesday as the ongoing strike by Motor Vehicles Department employees showed no signs of resolution, leaving hundreds of citizens unable to complete essential work.
People visiting the city RTO, East Nagpur Sub-Regional Transport Office and Nagpur Rural RTO for vehicle registrations, driving licences, permit renewals, ownership transfers and other essential services were unable to complete their work as normal operations continued to remain disrupted. Several applicants expressed frustration over making repeated visits to the offices, with no clarity on when services would be restored.
The prolonged agitation has also impacted vehicle dealerships, transport operators and driving schools, while the backlog of pending applications continues to grow with each passing day.
Employees are demanding implementation of service rules, time-bound promotions, changes in designations and resolution of cadre-related grievances. As discussions between the authorities and employee representatives remain inconclusive, citizens continue to bear the consequences of the stalemate, with uncertainty persisting over the resumption of regular services.
