Applications Invited for Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Honorarium Scheme for Senior Writers and Artists
The Maharashtra government has invited applications for the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Senior Literary and Artist Honorarium Scheme, under which distinguished senior writers and artists are provided a monthly honorarium of Rs 5,000 in recognition of their contribution to the fields of literature and art.
Eligible beneficiaries can submit applications online through the “Aaple Sarkar Portal” (https://aaplesarkar.mahaonline.gov.in/en?utm_source=chatgpt.com) between July 1 and July 31. The appeal has been issued by the Nagpur District Collector and Chairman of the District-Level Committee.
Under the scheme, applicants must be at least 50 years old. For persons with disabilities, the minimum age requirement has been relaxed to 40 years. Applicants should have made significant and continuous contributions to the fields of literature or arts for at least 15 years, adding quality and value to their respective disciplines. Preference will be given to senior applicants as well as widowed, divorced and differently-abled artists.
To be eligible, the annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs 60,000. The scheme is primarily intended for artists and writers whose livelihood depends solely on their artistic or literary work and who have no other regular source of income. Applicants must also be residents of Maharashtra and should not be receiving benefits under any other regular monthly pension scheme of the Central Government, State Government or government corporations.
Applicants are required to upload several documents while submitting the online form. These include proof of age, Aadhaar card, income certificate, domicile certificate, affidavit, bank passbook, disability certificate (if applicable), joint photograph of husband and wife (where applicable), award certificates from State or Central Government agencies, recommendation letters from reputed institutions or eminent persons (if available), and other supporting documents demonstrating contributions in the field of literature or arts.
Senior writers and artists have been urged to complete the online application process within the stipulated deadline to avail themselves of the scheme’s benefits.
