A shocking incident of an attempted murder by setting family members on fire has come to light in Saoner police station limits of Nagpur district.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at Dhapewada village in Saoner taluka, where a man allegedly poured petrol on his granddaughter and two young women who had come to the house for work, and attempted to burn them alive following a long-standing family dispute.According to police, the accused has been identified as Raju Laxman Barakde. Acting on a complaint lodged by Dhanraj Devnath Charvad, Saoner Police registered a case against the accused and arrested him within a few hours of the incident.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the attack stemmed from an old family dispute. The accused allegedly targeted his granddaughter and the two women by dousing them with petrol in an attempt to kill them.
Police have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the crime.The swift action by Saoner Police led to the accused’s immediate arrest. Further investigation is underway.
