A Rapido bike rider has alleged that he was assaulted and verbally abused by an auto-rickshaw driver in the Nandanvan area after being told that “bike taxis are not allowed.” According to the rider, the altercation escalated into physical violence.
The rider further claimed that when he approached the police station to lodge a complaint, an FIR was not registered and he was instead informed that only a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) could be filed.
Feeling dissatisfied with the response, he shared a video on social media expressing concerns about his safety and seeking justice.
The video quickly went viral, drawing significant public attention. The rider has also alleged that later the same night, police personnel visited his residence and asked him to come to the police station.
The incident has once again highlighted the growing influence of social media in bringing local grievances into the public spotlight. However, the police have not yet issued an official statement, and the matter remains under investigation. The facts and circumstances will become clearer once the official inquiry is completed.
