Good news is on the way for the state’s Ladki Bahin beneficiaries — the delayed June installment will likely be credited between July 12-15, benefiting around 1.69 crore eligible women with ₹1,500 each via DBT, following final Cabinet approval expected this week.
However, nearly 80 lakh women may be excluded from the scheme’s benefits after e-KYC verification, as Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare clarified in a written assembly reply that benefits have been stopped for women who haven’t completed e-KYC or whose applications failed scrutiny — including those with household income above ₹2.5 lakh or owning a four-wheeler.
Going forward, women will need to complete e-KYC annually during the June-July window to remain eligible.
Minister Tatkare also confirmed that district collectors have been directed to recover funds from ineligible beneficiaries and initiate action, since families earning over ₹2.5 lakh annually or government employees don’t qualify. Several government employees found availing scheme benefits have been identified and face strict departmental action.
