Seminar on mining trends held at Government Polytechnic

The ISTE faculty department of Mining and Mine Surveying at Government Polytechnic Nagpur, organised a one-day seminar on ‘Recent Trends in Mining Industry’ recently.

Director; Mines Safety; West Zone; Nagpur; Krinshnendu Mondal was the chief guest while Manoj Gurharikar from Rocktech Systems and Projects was the guest of honour. Principal; Government Polytechnic Nagpur; C S Thorat and Head, Department of Mining; B J Naidu also graced the occasion.

Mr. Krishnendu inaugurated the first-aid facility at Mining Department at the college and lauded the facilities provided to the students by the college. A television set was donated to E-library by college alumni Manoj Gurharikar.

Incharge ISTE; Ms. Mudrika Ahmad welcomed the guests while B J Naidu briefed out the objective of the seminar. Co-coordinator of the programme H C Shinde proposed a vote of thanks.

The inaugural programme was followed by two technical sessions. The topic of the first session was Under Blasting where Manoj Gurharikar was the resource person.

Gaurav Brahmankar was the resource person at the second session which was held on ‘Application of Drones in Mining Industry.’

The seminar ended with distribution of certificates to the participants. A large number of college students attended the seminar.
